Outline student guide for living with a Homestay Family:
When looking to live with another family overseas you need to be adaptable and flexible to live and respect the Hosting family rules.
Even being paying for a service, you must recognize the generosity and hospitality of your homestay family in welcoming you to their home.
You have some simple rules to follow, like:
Keep your room tidy and clean. It includes making your bed every morning before leaving to school or going out, put your clothes away, etc.
Do your own washing. You should ask the family when is the more convenient time to do it.
After meals you should take care of your dishes. Ask the family how to do it (wash dishes, use dishwasher, etc)
Always advise your hosts if you are going to be away for meals before 4pm.
Talk about your plans for vacations and for the weekend in advance.
Ask if its ok to invite your friends over to the house. Ask what are rules about this matter.
Enquiry about the internet access. Some families may charge an extra fee for this service and some families may have it for free.
Please take showers no longer than 10 minutes.
Keep your house keys and alarm code safe and do not share it with anyone.
Be polite and respectful always, specially when around young children.
Speak English when in the house, specially if you have friends visiting.
To make the most of your experience you should spend time with your host family, be friendly and sociable, adapt to the lifestyle and be open for dialogue.
NO SMOKING IS ALLOWED IN THE PROPERTY.
Any misbehaviour of possible criminal nature will result in suspension of your homestay and tuition while the relevant authorities investigation occur.
Changing of homestay will have to be discuss with the homestay coordinator. At least 2 weeks notice will be required before the student can be moved to a new family.
Please let the homestay coordinator know of any disagreement between the family and student, any disrespect and miss conduct of the family members or student, any medical conditions and issues of other natures. Your homestay coordinator can communicate by phone calls, emails and personally.
YOU MUST GIVE 2 WEEKS NOTICE BEFORE YOU CHANGE HOMESTAYS, END OR EXTEND YOUR STAY.

I agree to undergo a NZ Police check on all people over the age of 18 residing in our home at any time before any students from Stay Cool Ltd commence living at my home.
I accept that Stay Cool will review the information supplied by the Police Vetting Service and will advise if the application has been successful.
I understand that the material supplied by the NZ Police Vetting service, once reviewed, will be destroyed within 14 days of Stay Cool decision.
I accept that if approved as a Homestay Family that Stay Cool will communicate with you by email: this may include
payment information, new student information, Homestay Newsletters and more.
